Questions

Which PDFs can be converted?
PDFs exported from notation software such as MuseScore, Sibelius, Finale, Dorico or LilyPond. These carry the music as notation, which is what we read. Scanned pages and photos are pictures of music, and can’t be converted yet.
What comes across?
Notes and rests, rhythms, ties, chords and voices, lyrics, clefs, key and time signatures, repeats with 1st and 2nd endings, and tempo marks. Slurs and dynamics aren’t converted yet.
Will it open in Sibelius or Finale?
Yes. Sibelius, Finale, Dorico and MuseScore all open MusicXML, the standard format for moving scores between programs. After a conversion you’ll see how to open the file in each one.
Do you keep my files?
No. Your PDF is read on our server and then thrown away, and the MusicXML comes straight back to you. Neither is stored. Large files pass through private storage while they upload and are deleted as soon as they’re read.
Is it free?
Yes, converting is free to use right now.
